The filtering tool selects items in the current list according to one or more input terms. A term is loosely or precisely associated with a category (PROTEIN, TISSUE, etc…). Categories correspond to the entities labeling the coloured buttons visible in all GlyConnect pages. They are also listed in the table at the bottom of this page. The following examples are applied to the Proteins
                page, but the can be applied to any "list" page.
            
            Multi criteria
            Delimiter
            When inputting two terms or more, the delimiter is &.
                
                Example : to select all human glycoproteins expressed in kidney from the Protein view
                type in : kidney & human.
                            
            Results
            When input terms belong to the same category, they are processed with a logical OR.
                
                Example
                : If serotransferrin & APOH
                is typed in, since the two terms are in the PROTEIN category, the resulting list includes all protein entries matching either serotransferrin OR APOH
                .
                            
            When input terms do not belong to the same category, only items sharing all terms are returned, applying a logical AND
                .
                
                Example :
                If serotransferrin & human
                is typed in, since the two terms are in the PROTEIN category and TAXONOMY category respectively, the resulting list includes all protein entries matching both serotransferrin AND human
                .
                            
            Specific criteria search
            Some terms (e.g.: blood) may appear in names of tissue, protein or disease or be included in an article title. To refine filtering with targeted terms and avoid a loose selection that generates no or unexpected results, the term category should be named using its corresponding key
                as described in the table below.
                
                Example :
                To target human glycoproteins involved in cancer observed in urine with sialylated glycans
                , type in: disease=cancer & taxonomy=human & glycan=sialylated & tissue = urine
