Glyconnect data can be browsed to get an overview of the relationships between different data types organised in currently six categories: glycan structures and monosaccharide compositions, glycosylated proteins, taxonomy, expression tissue and involvement in diseases. Each has a designated colour code that remains consistent throughout the pages and shown in the summary statistics diagram. For example, the Browser supports loose queries such as:
How many glycoproteins are available in a specific species?
In which tissue(s) has a structure been reported?
What are the known structures associated with a disease?
Click on either of these categories to enter the database and start browsing through the activation of the many cross-links.
Details and tips for browsing are given in the Help pages.
This resource complies with the recommendations of the SNFG nomenclature for the representation of glycans.
